David Grennan is a Dublin based Cinematographer who has worked all over the world.

His journey commenced as a camera assistant, fuelled by an unwavering passion for cinema and photography. Aged 12, he received a Pentax K1000 Camera from his uncle, a cherished relic that kindled his lifelong fascination with photography. Raised in an environment steeped in cinematic classics, courtesy of his parents Bridget and Anthony, whose shared love spanned from The Godfather to Singing In the Rain.

From feature films to television, commercials, and music promos, David's dedication to his craft is reflected in a diverse range of creative endeavours.

While anchored in Ireland, David's love for exploration knows no bounds, making him a sought-after collaborator, sometimes with the tradition of Hawaiian Shirt Friday ;) a passport in hand and a spirit hungry for new horizons, he continues to journey, bringing his unparalleled expertise and boundless creativity to projects far and wide.

References for David, Cinematographer:

David Grennan excelled as a creative partner and reliable professional. He effectively communicated with actors and directors, and led his department with professionalism and leadership, ensuring a safe and productive environment for our production despite schedule and budget constraints. His consistent professionalism made him an invaluable team member for the producers, and his vision made our series cinematic and high-quality. I eagerly anticipate collaborating with him again.Jin Ishimoto, President of Element 8 Entertainment and Executive Producer of Clean Sweep (AMC+/Sundance Now, RTE, BBC3, ZDFS).

I had the privilege of working with Dave Grennan when he took the role of Director of Photography on my film, WHAT RICHARD DID. Collaborating with Dave was a pleasure all the way through the process, from our early creative discussions where I found Dave to be both insightful and sensitive through the shoot itself where he was unflappable, collaborative, great with cast and creatively excellent. I love the way he lights and operates and value the spirit of support and camaraderie he always brings. I can’t recommend him highly enough.Lenny Abrhamson, Director Room ( Oscar Nominated ) What Richard Did and Normal People

I have had the pleasure of collaborating with David for numerous years across Feature Films and TV ventures, ranging from the intimate portrayal of emotion in "Kisses" to the fantastical landscapes of "Green Night." As a Cinematographer, David exemplifies excellence, standing as one of Ireland's finest in his craft.

What sets David apart is not only his technical prowess but also his unwavering commitment to each project's vision. His approach is marked by a stellar attitude and a deeply collaborative spirit, fostering an environment where creativity flourishes.

It is with wholehearted enthusiasm that I recommend David for any cinematography endeavor. His dedication, talent, and penchant for crafting visuals make him an invaluable asset to any production. I eagerly anticipate the opportunity to work with him again in the near future.Macdara Kellegher, Producer and CEO/Founder Wild Atlantic Pictures
